Allot of other women look up to you, who do you look up to?
I’m a huge fan of Cheryl Brown, IFBB Figure Pro. She’s an amazing TOP competitor, a mother, she works, has a degree in nutrition and soooo much more. Even better than that, she has got to be one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She takes time to talk with her fans and we’ve become friends…REAL friends. Hats off to Cheryl!
Do you eat any of what people call junk food? If so how often?
Hmmmm, what is junk food? LOL – just kidding. Yes, I eat bad food every once in a while. During competition season, if I follow my diet 95%, I allow myself one small cheat, every Sat evening. I usually pick the 2 slices of pizza or 2 pancakes and 2 eggs as my cheat. I try not to eat junk food…my body completely rejects it when I eat so clean regularly. Off-season, I’m not AS strict, but putting yourself on a stable plan is key.
Do you drink alcohol? If so how often?
Special occasions only…I got married a few weeks ago, and I’ll admit, I had a few drinks
What would an example be of your diet you eat day to day?
Meal 1 – Egg whites, oat meal and a little red meat for breakfast
Meal 2 – chicken and green veggie
Meal 3 – salad with fish
Meal 4 – turkey, sweet potato and veggie
Meal 5 – chicken and green veggie
Meal 6 – salad with fish
If you could pick only 3 different body parts to put on your body from 3 other people, what would they be and why?
I have to admit it…this question really stumped me. I’m not saying I’m perfect. I’m not…that’s the whole point of competing – to continuously improve your physique from one competition to the next. Hmmm…let’s see. Maybe Jaime Eason’s butt? Hehe. I used to think I wanted Janet Jackson’s abs, but now I have them! I want to be me…and like being me. How ‘bout that?
What are your 1st and 2nd biggest achievements in life so far?
1st – I’ve cheated death 3 times…Not many people know about this, but I’ve had THREE brain surgeries! The most recent was when I was in college at Penn State, during winter break. I’m a fighter…the doctors were hoping for the best. They didn’t even imagine that I would make it back to school on time for spring semester, but I showed them. So much of recovery and health is mental…and I was NOT about to quit.
2nd – Finding my wonderful husband. Finding the perfect match is definitely not easy. But especially NOT so when you’re a competitor. We don’t party and hang out like allot of other people do; we don’t eat like other people do; we definitely spend more time in the gym; are anal retentive about weighing our food; and last but not least, I’ll admit it – we get cranky sometimes He’s so supportive and great. It took 29 years to find him, but he’s mine now
What is your main goal in life?
Right now I work full-time in sales. I’ve had my personal training certification through ISSA for 4 years now. I’ve even received my nutrition certification through ISSA as well. I am also a distributor and health coach for Isagenix. My knowledge base and these products will help catapult me to a whole new level. I want to increase my awareness by achieving more training and health certifications, further diversifying my knowledge. Health and wellness plays such an important role in my life. I’ve been living this lifestyle and competing for six years now. My main goal is to build a personal training business so that I can do that full-time. I want to reach more people and be more inspirational, helping people change their lives.
What is your favourite picture of yourself at the moment?
I wasn’t as lean in this pic as I am now, but I still LOVE this one…thank you Eva Simon!
