Workout Routine:

Bulking Diet and Cutting Diet:

my off season and competition diets are roughly the same. Foods amounts and calories are changed to accommodate the goal.

In the off season I eat 1-2 cheat meals per week and I’m nutty about peanut butter!

I work with elite sport nutrition coach Matt Lovell. He is currently nutritionist to many premier soccer teams, The England RFU and other rugby teams as well as GB’s best track & field athletes.

When and why did you get started?

I was always sorts minded at school and played football at county level. Even got to play a FA cup vase final on the old Wembley ground before it got tore down!

Once I got into my very late teens football became a weekend hobby along with drinking and girls! Unfortunately the drinking had given me a slight beer belly and thought that my weight training I could turn this fat to muscle (not possible!) and get the girls! Lol

Will you always strive to get stronger or at some point just try to maintain?

I always strive to move forward, improve is in my blood. I ensure I Train in an environment with like minded others and those that are better than you – now I own a gym, it’s perfectly set up for me to train, I have been able to train hard and heavy without fear of equipment failure and focus on the mind to muscle link without compromise.

What would be your biggest dream to be able to achieve?

I have been fortunate to have won British Titles, World titles and a Mr universe Title. My dream is to be able to carry on and improve competing at the Universe and Worlds in my 50′s without injuries!

Do you ever struggle to stick to your diet and eat lots of junk food?

Yes that’s always a problem, I’m mental for peanut butter and love a monster burger with chips, but schedule these into a clean week allowing a once per week reward day! I’ve also used clinical hypnotherapy to fight of cravings when competing and used padlocks on the ‘naughty’ cupboard to stop me raiding it in the middle of the night…lol true!

Allot of us out there love a good drink of alcohol from time to time, do you ever drink, if so how often?

Only on occasions such as birthdays etc… Done far too many competitions and diets now that drinking has become a thing of the past… Although I can murder a bottle of tequila on a night out with Dean Ash!

If you could pick only one supplement what would it be? (Not protein as you can get that from foods easily)

Glutamine and BCAA Tied at number one! Great anti catabolic and preservers of muscle

If you could pick only 3 different body parts to put on your body from 3 famous people, what would they be and why?

Who do you look up to these days and why?

Older wiser veterans in the sport.

Bob Dawson a o/50 Mr Universe and World winner and owner of Bodywise gym in Hinckley, Leicester! Great motivator and knowledge you can only achieve with time, plus he can party like no other ..lol

Marty Yates Brown, just a True ambassador and absolute legend! Still cutting up and hitting the stage over 60 years of age!

Dave Kingham, my contest prep advisor and hard talking master Ukbff competitor a legend in Essex!

Matt Lovell Elite Nutritionist, as above this guy knows more about the right foods for you than you ever could!

Your top 3 tips to someone that might be just starting out bodybuilding?

There is no magic bullet, quick fix or secrets in becoming a good bodybuilder, its commitment 24 hours a day, but you must have balance in your life in order to improve and experience the best of what life offers.

Eat more than you ever thought you needed to and Consistently EVERYDAY including weekends!
