Weight: 90kg (198.4lb)
Height: 180cm (5 Feet 10 Inches)
I don’t have a specific schedule; I train often and heavy. I rest from 2 to 4 days a month. I like basic exercises and heavier weights – this is the only way for a natural athlete like me to maintain decent size. Most people don’t train often, because they are afraid they might overtrain, but I would rather overtrain than feel like I haven’t trained enough. Here is how my split is set up:
- Day one: Chest/Abs
- Day two: Back/Traps
- Day three: Shoulders/Abs
- Day four: Triceps/Biceps
- Day five: Legs/Abs
Since my body type is somewhere between ectomorph and mesomorph I have a pretty fast metabolism and I don’t limit myself on food when bulking. I just follow a couple of important principles, the most important one of which is to take 30 gr protein every 2 hours, combined with complex carbohydrates.
I begin with stopping carbs intake in the afternoon. Then I start carb cycling and during the last days of the period I completely cut any carbohydrates.
When and why did you get started?
I started really young, around 10 – 12 years old. I watched a lot of action movies and wanted to be like the heroes in them. Then I got into basketball, but lifted weights at the same time. After I was done with basketball I went in the Army for a year and there I completely switched to bodybuilding.
Will you always strive to get stronger or at some point just try to maintain?
I always strive to improve something, whether it’s size, endurance, strength or something else. If I decide to just maintain, then I won’t have motivation to work out.
Have you done any competitions or plan to?
I’m not planning to compete anymore. To me it’s more important how many people you have motivated then how many medals you have won. This is what I live for!
What would be your biggest dream to be able to achieve?
Believe it or not, I don’t have one big dream. I just have goals, which I set for myself. Once I complete a goal, I set new one.
Do you ever struggle to stick to your diet and eat lots of junk food?
Not really, I’m pretty strict and I dedicate myself 100% when I’ve set a goal that I want to complete. Whatever you do in life, you have to do it all the way or don’t do it at all.
Allot of us out there love a good drink of alcohol from time to time, do you ever drink, if so how often?
No, I haven’t had alcohol in about 1 year. I have a lot of plans for the future, but alcohol isn’t in them.
If you could pick only one supplement what would it be? (Not protein as you can get that from foods easily)
Your favourite food?
Chicken and pasta
If you could pick only 3 different body parts to put on your body from 3 famous people, what would they be and why?
Interesting question, but the truth is I wouldn’t pick anything from anyone. I just want to be Lazar Angelov with all of his pros and cons.
Who do you look up to these days and why?
There are many people I look up to, but they are not celebrities. Just regular people from my environment, who manage to overcome the obstacles and struggles life throws at them every day.
Your favourite quote?
“To achieve what others won’t, you have to do what others don’t”
Your top 3 tips to someone that might be just starting out bodybuilding?
1.To find a personal trainer
2.To be very patient
3.To set realistic goals
What is your favourite motivation picture online and why?
Mainly because I’m in the picture and the sentence is mine The man in the mirror knows best what he has achieved and at what price. I really believe that it doesn’t matter how many years you’ve lived, rather what you have achieved in your lifetime.
