Weight: offseason 215- 225 contest 190-195

I look at my routines as nine or ten days splits. I try not look at them as a Monday thru Friday routine. I constantly change routines week to week and will incorporate cross fit training and plyometric training. Constantly changing the routines and shocking my system is my ultimate goal.
Offseason it is alot like contest prep with alot more carbs and fat I still eat clean but will throw in an occasion burger or pizza after a workout on a laggy muscle trying to pump as many calories as possible into that area….but when it comes to contest prep its six small meals of chicken turkey and fish…Fish is a killer but its a most that has been the hardest part to get use to.. and alot of spinach…. i think popeye was on to something with that it has to be a diet favourite along with the grits..
When and why did you get started?
When I was 18 I started to pursue my interest in fitness modeling. As i think back to when I was 18, I can not say truly why I gained interest in the sport, I have always been intrigued as a kid with muscles. Lifting was always a release for me.. Dealing with life issues as a kid it was something I could turn to and channel my energy into something positive.
Will you always strive to get stronger or at some point just try to maintain?
I will always try to be better than I currently am, because I was taught to never settle but, right now I can not afford to gain much more mass. I need to condition the muscle i have…This maybe ( hopefully) my last building phase.. I would like to think im getting close to the maintence stage..
Have you done any competitions or plan to?
In 2011, I competed in three competitions. In march I competed in the Natural Npc Pittsburgh, which i placed second. One week later I entered the Natural Northern Ohio competition and took 1st place. The final show I competed in was in June, which was the Junior National event in Chicago. I intend to do three or four national level shows in 2012.
What would be your biggest dream to be able to achieve?
In 2011 they introduced the Mens Physique Division, to say that going pro is not a goal would be a lie.. But i just want to continue to improve and see where the journey takes me…So many times people get caught up in the “prize” and lose focus of the journey , im blessed to be able to train and enjoy the sport.
Do you ever struggle to stick to your diet and eat lots of junk food?
Not at all, once i have a show targeted im dialed and ready to roll. The competitive juices start flowing and my super competitive side kicks in. Fitness modeling is a lifestyle in my eyes, its my passion.
Allot of us out there love a good drink of alcohol from time to time, do you ever drink, if so how often?
During my in season I do not drink any type of alcohol, but during off season I will have an occasional glass of red wine…Very rarely
If you could pick only one supplement what would it be? (Not protein as you can get that from foods easily)
The only supplement I consume is Branched Chained Amino Acids by MuscleBasix. I stick to the basics.
Your favourite food?
In the off season i smash double cheeseburgers. Contest prep my favourite food are grits, loaded with spray butter. Its amazing.
If you could pick only 3 different body parts to put on your body from 3 famous people, what would they be and why?
To be honest, I try not to get caught up in comparing myself to other competitors or athletes, that takes me away from my preparation , i just try to compete with myself and make myself the best i can be everything will fall into place.
Your favourite quote?
I have several quotes that i live by… But if I had to pick one would be
“ The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack in well.” – Vince Lombardi
