My husband is my trainer so he sets up all of my workouts but a typical week during contest prep is
Sunday : Legs
When and why did you get started?
I have always been intrigued with figure competitors since I was in my early twenties but just never thought I could be someone like that. I had never stepped foot in a gym and I was not in any sports during my school years. I started doing boxing and kickboxing when I turned 30 and fell in love with it. Shortly thereafter, I hit the gym and started weight training. I decided in October 2010 that I would take the leap and compete. I hired Julie Lohre, Fitness expert and joined her Fitbody Team. I have competed Bikini at the NPC Northern Ky. , but I hope to build up my muscle and transition into figure in the next couple of years.
Do you eat any of what people call junk food? If so how often?
Yes, my whole diet consisted of breakfast, lunch and dinner at Wendy’s, McDonald’s and Taco Bell. It has been a very hard struggle to change my diet but every once in awhile I still like a big order of French fries.
Random question, how much have to spent on your tattoos?
I have spent probably over 40 hours of time on tattoos and thousands of dollars. I have never really counted up how much exactly and I am glad I haven’t because I don’t plan on stopping any time soon.
Who do you look up to?
Above all, Christ Jesus, my Lord and Saviour. In the fitness industry, Ava Cowan. She is a great inspiration and i have followed her for many years.
Your favourite quote?
Only God can judge me !
Do you drink alcohol? If so how often?
Yes, I will have a glass or two of wine with dinner maybe one or two times a month.
What would an example be of your diet you eat day to day?
I am currently in contest prep and my nutrition coach is Stephaney Theobald of Natty Nutrition. She has created a diet specifically for me because am I doing this prep as a vegetarian. I have slowly removed meat from diet over the last couple of years but just gave up fish for this diet. I am not sure if I will stay vegetarian or go back to pescetarian ( one who eats seafood) but for now I am enjoying it.

If you could pick only 3 different body parts to put on your body from 3 other people, what would they be and why?
Ava Cowan’s abdominals, Samantha Baker’s legs and Larissa Reis’ arms.
What are your 1st and 2nd biggest achievements in life so far?
Giving birth to my daughter and beating cancer so I can watch her grown into a beautiful young lady.
Do you ever just feel like giving it all up?
Absolutely ! I have been in the gym with tears rolling down my face and my husband in my ear just telling me to keep going and not give up. I work full time and attend college full time as well as take care of my family so weight training, cardio and nutrition are very hard to keep up with in my already busy schedule. However, the feeling of euphoria you get when you finish your set is all worth it. I am on such a high when I leave the gym.
If you could go back to a point in your life to change something what point would this be and why?
I don’t think that I would. I have a lot of regrets and what ifs, just like everyone else. The good as well as the bad have made me the strong, independent woman I am today.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I hope to be a Nurse Practitioner, competing in Figure at a national level and published in Inked Girls magazine.
What is your main goal in life?
My biggest goal is to get my education in holistic nutrition and help people to cure their diseases and ailments through diet and not medications.
