Charla Cormier – Became A Fit Mom

Age: 37
Weight: 130lb / 126lbs during competition
Routine:

My daily routine always begins with nutrition first! Got to get in that nutritious meal at the beginning of the day or I am wiped out by 3pm!:) My workouts are always done early in the morning so I can spend more time with my kids.  My workouts always consist of weight training combined with plyo-metrics and Kickboxing 2 days a week.

Looking at your pictures you have been working really hard to get top where you are today, what has kept you motivated all this time?

WOW…let’s see…many things motivate me but the main motivation for me, are my kids.  I want to be a healthy Mom and I want healthy kids;)  and of coarse I need to look good for their Daddy!;)  The second thing that motivates me is remembering myself at 170lbs… and I never want to go back there!

I am so excited about this page because I get to share all the fitness and nutrition information I have learned through the years with other Mothers out there.  I once was over weight (170lbs)and when I began my journey to losing weight I made a promise to myself and that promise was…If I ever figured out how to get fit after having kids I would share my experiences and information on how to do it with as many people as I can!  Facebook makes that possible!:) My passion is to help people get healthy and fit especially the Mothers out there that DON’T think it is possible.  I used to be one of those Mom’s until I broke the OVER WEIGHT MOMMY MOLD!  It is possible and I am living proof that if you just BELIEVE in yourself and MAKE a GOAL, not an EXCUSE,  you can achieve anything!:)

Do you eat any of what people call junk food? If so how often?

I do not deprive myself of all the good foods out there especially my MEXICAN FOOD:) I just limit it about once a week and then compensate the next day for my cheat meal.   COMPENSATE meaning the next day after a high calorie meal…I will do extra cardio, eat every 2 to 3 hours and drink lots of water…. Normally people will compensate for a meal by NOT EATING and this is the worse thing you can do.

Your favourite quote?

MAKE a GOAL, not an EXCUSE!…believe in yourself!
I came up with this quote when I was determined to lose weight.  I said it to myself every morning and when I needed to remind myself of my goal!  Well It worked and I still to this day say it at least a couple time through out the day:)

Do you drink alcohol? If so how often?

Yes, I love a good Cabernet!  And or coarse the occasional Margarita!

What would an example be of your diet you eat day to day?

It is actually pretty simple…I eat every two to three hours about 150 to 300 calories combining carbs and protein at each meal/ snack. I never go over 3 hours without eating. I drink 1 gallon of water a day to keep myself hydrated from my intense workouts and to help with water retention.  My body loves to hold on to water if I don’t get enough!:0) I would say my calorie intake is anywhere from 1400 to 1800 calories depending on my activity level for the day!

If you could pick only 3 different body parts to put on your body from 3 other people, what would they be and why?

Actually, none… because I have worked really hard to sculpt my body to exactly what I want… and I am pretty happy with it:)

What are your 1st and 2nd biggest achievements in life so far?

I have many so here goes..:) Becoming a Mom, Achieving my weight loss goal, Being an athlete for All American EFX supplements, Being in Magazines and becoming a personal trainer to keep inspiring others to stay FITNESS FOCUSED!

Do you ever just feel like giving it all up?

No way, lol!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Getting my Nutrition Degree and still inspiring others to stay healthy…It makes me so happy when I can help someone and guide them to a healthier lifestyle; This is my quest in life!

What is your main goal in life?

To be the best person I can be and to teach my children the same.

What is your favourite picture of yourself at the moment?

This picture is my favourite because it was the very first competition my children got to go to!  I was so proud to be up on that stage and my kids were proud of me too!  My kids got the judges attention every time they YELLED…GO MOMMA!!!! ;)
