Weight: 110lbs off, 105lbs on
I work out with my trainer, Dennis Sheppard, at New Body Architects three times a week; Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Right now we are focusing on building my legs and shoulders so Tuesday is legs, Thursday is shoulders, and Saturday is usually a split between the two. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays I train by myself or with a friend. Monday is arms, Wednesday is back, and Sunday morning is my all time favourite time to train (because no one is in the gym!) and I work on whatever muscles I feel need a little more attention. I do cardio 5 times a week for about 30 minutes and incorporate an abs circuit into my workouts about 4 times a week. Fridays are usually my rest day!
A lot of other women look up to you, who do you look up to?
Fitness model and writer Jamie Eason is such an inspiration to me. I think she is such a beautiful person inside and out. She gives great advice and is always on point with her body. I especially love how she is so open and strong in her faith.
Your favourite food?
Well I do live up to my name… I have a huge sweet tooth! I love anything chocolate
What’s your best music to work out to?
I find myself listening to rap & hip hop most often. Most of the time I have Pandora on Lil Wayne. It really gets me pumped!
Do you eat any of what people call junk food? If so how often?
When I’m preparing for a competition or a photoshoot, I am very strict with my diet. But, when it’s off season I usually allow myself to have a cheat day in which I will indulge a little. My go to is frozen yogurt, yum!
Do you drink alcohol? If so how often?
Not really, if I do it’s off season for a special occasion or possibly a glass of red wine with dinner. Alcohol is just empty calories and personally I’d rather wake up in the morning ready to work out than with a hangover.
What would an example be of your diet you eat day to day?
I eat 5-6 meals a day with each meal containing a protein and a complex carb. I usually have egg whites and oatmeal with cinnamon in the morning for breakfast. For a snack I will have a protein bar or shake if I am in a hurry that morning or possibly a spinach salad with tuna. Lunch is usually chicken, vegetables and a sweet potato. My second snack might be a protein shake or ground turkey with veggies. Sometimes, if I’ve had a long day and need a little boost before my workout I will take a pre-workout shake or have an apple with peanut butter before I hit the gym. And for dinner, I may have tilapia with vegetables. If I’m at a stage where I’m trying to build muscle then I will have a casein protein shake before bed.
If you could pick only 3 different body parts to put on your body from 3 other people, what would they be and why?
Honestly I love my body and know that with hard work and dedication I can shape it to look exactly how I want it to look for myself. The only thing that I have struggled with is wanting to have bigger breasts. It’s challenging to model and compete in south Florida where the majority of women have been “cosmetically enhanced”. So, I would love to have Sofia Vergara’s boobs! LOL!
What are your 1st and 2nd biggest achievements in life so far?
I think my first biggest achievement would have to be going to college, although I recently decided to change my major to Dietetics so now I will be there for a while longer. And secondly, competing in my first bikini competition, the 2012 NPC Diamond Classic, and placing 1st in my class.
What is your main goal in life?
My main goal is to live a healthy and happy life. I want to be an inspiration to others and prove that anything is possible as long as you believe in yourself. Set goals and destroy them with hard work and dedication. After all, you get in what you put out!
What is your favourite picture of yourself at the moment?
My favourite picture at the moment is me on stage winning my trophy at the Diamond Classic, I look so incredibly happy in that picture.
