Weight train 5 days per week, 30 minutes cardio 5 days per week
A lot of other women look up to you, who do you look up to?
Honestly, I look up to my mother more than any other woman. She is absolutely beautiful inside and
out and has the purest heart of anyone on the planet. She’s an amazing wife, mother, and human
being. And she’s my best friend!
Your favourite food?
My rare treat of Mrs. Fields cookie cakes….the more frosting the better!
But on a normal day, I look forward to my almond butter on a rice cake with stevia…almond butter is
Do you eat any of what people call junk food? If so how often?
I eat clean almost always, but if I’m not getting ready to compete, I do have my little cheats here and
there – usually once a week or so. I am in LOVE with sweet potato fries and have an insane sweet
tooth, so I have to let myself have a cookie or something every so often. Spread out cheats are good
for your metabolism anyway!
Do you drink alcohol? If so how often?
What would an example be of your diet you eat day to day?
I always eat a good breakfast before working out – typically egg whites, oatmeal, and some flax. I
have a protein shake and some rice cakes after working out, then chicken, rice, and veggies a few
times later in the day, and end my day with another protein shake
If you could pick only 3 different body parts to put on your body from 3 other people, what would
they be and why?
I wouldn’t. God gave me my body and I’m proud of every inch of it. If I spent my time wishing I
could have other people’s body parts instead of working hard to improve and accept my own, life
would be pretty rough.
What are your 1st and 2nd biggest achievements in life so far?
My #1 achievement:
I struggled with bulimia and near-fatal anorexia from when I was 12 until I was about 22. I took a
long road of counselling, love and support from my family and friends, but I did beat it and now enjoy
a healthy mind and body every day!
My #2 achievement:
I don’t know if this should be #1, but I wake up happy every single day just to be Alison Burgess. I
accept my flaws, forgive myself for my mistakes, and love myself unconditionally no matter what
anyone says or has said to me in the past. I truly truly believe life is too short to be anything but
What is your main goal in life?
I want to use everything I’ve experienced, good and bad, to help other people along their own paths.
What is your favourite picture of yourself at the moment?
My amazing bikini competition coach, Kim Oddo:
